Consultations

Mariya Vizireanu, PhD
M.S. in Public Health
B.S. in Business

Professional development is my passion! I’ve taught this subject at a university + I’ve done workshops and guest talks for different academic & non-academic groups.

Who you are: you’re an undergrad/grad/post-grad in social sciences or STEM looking for help in your job search. Note: most of my experience with consulting has been for undergraduate students in social sciences, though much of the advice can transcend fields. But since I’ve transitioned from academia to industry in 2021, I’m now doing more consulting for grad students/post-docs who want to switch to industry themselves!

Who I am/why I consult on this topic: I’ve been on multiple job search committees for a research center (and, now, a gaming company), have taught a political internship class at Loyola Marymount University for 5 semesters, and have done workshops and document reviews for the Impulse New Music Festival (INMF). Lastly, I’ve been on the job market myself and have secured positions in both academia and industry!

Note: if you’re currently a student, please check out the free resources at your institution first! I’d rather you get help that is freely available to you than spend money on a consultation 🙂 For example, your college/university might have a Career & Professional Development office that offers resume reviews, mock-up interviews, and all sorts of tips and resources in between. Check them out first – get as much value as you can there.. if you feel like you need more – contact me!
